Introduction
Over time HR has evolved from an administrative function to a strategic partner enabling the business to be competitive and successful. HR has key functions namely policing, operations, consultative and strategic partner and these functions are clustered in three key phases namely HR Planning, HR Management and HR development. Learning HR and how it impacts you and the business is the key outcome of the course.
Learning Outcome
By end of this course you will be able to:
- Define and articulate the importance of HR in any business success.
- Understand the key functions and how they have evolved over time as well as list key processes for each function.
- Learn how to calculate the employee lifecycle and factors that impact the lifecycle
- List the key activities related to HR Planning apply workload method to estimate the number of people needed to match business needs.
- Learn the key functions of HR Management and apply BSC method to articulate and design KPIs for employees.
- Master the HR Development process and apply the learning intervention to close the competency gap for employees
- Make sense how HR impacts you at your personal level by applying the performance management cycle.
Assessment
The learner will be assessed based on Bloom`s taxonomy to remember, understand and apply:
- The key functions of HR and key processes within each function.
- Understand the HR framework model and ability to calculate the employee lifecycle.
- List key processes within HR planning and apply workload matrix to calculate the needed number of people required in a given business.
- List the Key aspects of Administration and Operation functions of HR and apply BSC method to create KPIs for a given job.
- Understand the HR Development key processes and apply the learning interventions in a given case.
- Apply the performance management cycle for learners’ individual working environment or personal.
